Every November, students put their academic journey to the test. For 12th grade students, their performance plays a significant role in determining their next steps after graduation. Through our dedicated staff, smaller class sizes, and holistic approach, we often achieve scores far beyond many other public and private schools. We believe a good performance matters, but character rooted in Christ matters more.
The effect of this belief is seen in students like Benedict, who displays excellence in heart and mind.
Benedict joined us as a young boy growing up in Mathare. The school system in the slum is not equipped for the many children, like Benedict, who need guidance to flourish and grow in their gifting. Parents don’t have many alternatives due to the high cost of private education. That is where eduKenya is able to step in to provide a lower cost, higher quality option.
After many years in eduKenya’s Mawewa School and Chelezo High School, Benedict's teachers describe him as a very humble student, who has taken hold of the eternal truths that we impart year after year. Benedict has a deep faith, and has even taken on additional responsibilities for Chelezo’s Sunday services, where he leads our students in praise and worship. He is bold yet thoughtful, living a life rooted in his favorite Bible verse...
“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known…” Jeremiah 33:3
It gives us great joy to now call Benedict an alumnus of our schools, and we believe the Lord will use him in mighty ways.
Our work relies on your generosity. If investing in the lives of children like Benedict resonates, would you consider a year-end gift?
The US dollar goes 3 times as far in Kenya, and every gift makes a bigger impact. We are able to accept cash, stock, cryptocurrency, qualified charitable distributions and more.
Join is as we invest in our students to see them thrive and break the cycle of poverty in Mathare. Thank you for being a part of the transformation.
