At our eduKenya schools, character development based on biblical principles is at the center of the educational experience that we provide our students. Our students have several opportunities available to them to grow their gifts and talents as they participate in clubs and extracurricular activities throughout the school year.
Last week, our Mawewa Primary School students had the opportunity to choose their student leaders. Interested candidates for the various leadership offices prepared campaign speeches to present before the entire student body. Each candidate presented their manifesto and explain to the voters why they were best suited for their particular position. After the presentations, the students were given the chance to ask the candidates questions.
The candidates continued to make their case on an individual basis to their classmates and friends until election day which was held on January 24th. The available positions included the Presidential seat, General Secretary, Class Governors, and Cabinet Secretaries for Sports.
William Wambua was elected as the School President. Sharon Shiundu will serve as the Deputy President. Elizabeth Mutheu and Kelvin Kipkorir were elected as Cabinet Secretaries for Sports, and Hellen Wanjiru will take on the role of General Secretary.
Congratulations to our new student leaders, we wish them all the best as they endeavor to serve their fellow students to the best of their ability.
