An Undivided Heart
An Undivided Heart

This December, we will complete our 17th year as an organization, and we are humbled by the way the Lord has moved around us. The people in Mathare have been let down by short-lived relief, and are skeptical of people offering assistance. When eduKenya began, this was very much the case. A 24-year-old Adam Gould understood that he couldn’t do it alone, and partnered with local pastor, Bob Kikuyu. This partnership created a sustainable trajectory, and allowed us to cultivate the much-needed support from within the community we served.

Those early relationships led to unimaginable stories, and we can’t take the credit. We can provide opportunities for educational, spiritual, and physical growth, but the Lord creates the lasting change in the hearts of our students.

Seventeen years later, our hearts remain the same. As we grow in our structure and execution, we are sowing seeds that we hope lead to transformation.

Encouraged by one of their own.

The heroes of this story are our students. It is these children who will shape the culture of their families and communities for generations to come. We are now seeing the first fruits of these investments. Class of 2019 graduates, Ann Kulunda and Wanjala Mulongo, recently completed their college studies and encouraged the students of Chelezo.

They have become very dear to us.

For staff, graduation is a bittersweet moment. We have known some of these families since their child was 3 years old, and have witnessed their growth year after year. We have walked with them through heartache and joy, and had the honor of speaking into their hearts.

We are grateful to have a role in their story, and trust that the Lord will guide their path.

This year end, will you consider giving to eduKenya so that we can continue investing in our children? Every gift makes a difference, and you can give a check, stock, cryptocurrency, or set up a recurring donation.

We are nearly halfway there and need help to raise $300,000 by December 31st!

GIVE NOW

As we prepare for another class of children, I want to properly thank you. When I consider the impact of eduKenya, I am reminded of the many people who have supported us. Your generosity has transformed the lives of our graduates, and left an international legacy.

Thankfully,
Blake Henson
