Pete Zimmerman


Pete is recently retired from John Deere after over ten years working in Logistics. Prior to that, he spent 23 years with Kodak in a variety of supply chain management and logistics positions that took him and his family to five different countries to live, work and attend school. Prior to Kodak, he spent three years with Bell of Pennsylvania in their Initial Management Development Program and two years with the U.S. Department of Commerce in their Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Pete holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Westminster College and a Masters in Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Pete is married to Mary, and they have two grown sons, Kevin and Cory. Pete and Mary enjoy playing golf and spending time on Canandaigua Lake in upstate New York.

Titus Mumo

Vice Chair

Titus is the Managing Director at Africabs Tours Ltd, a company that offers corporate travel, tours and safaris services. Titus has previous experience as a branch manager at a telecommunications company at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Titus has a diploma in information technology and is currently pursuing a degree in Entrepreneurship at Strathmore University.

Tom Friedel


Tom Friedel serves as Business Manager for Thomas Construction. He previously worked as Finance Director for Davis Archway, Business Manager and Associate Financial Representative for Gould Financial Services, owner of Double Three Transportation and Assistant Dean of Students at the University of New Mexico.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Ripon College and a Master of Arts in Higher Education from Bowling Green State University. He is passionate about seeking truth and believes that acting on our knowledge of the truth is one of the most important things we can do. Tom is married to Kathie Friedel and has had assorted dogs and cats.

Peninah Semenye


Peninah is the Founder and CEO of Wonderful Child Foundation, a fundraising organization that provides health care for children living in extreme poverty and purchases equipment for Kenyatta National Hospital’s neonatal and pediatric units. Peninah is active in acquiring donated items for children’s homes and she owns a clothing boutique that sells African wear. Peninah has a higher diploma (Associate’s Degree) in Counseling Psychology, a higher diploma in Business Management from Kenya Institute of Management, and will soon complete a degree in Business Management. Peninah is the mother of three boys, Kwami, Kofi and Tevin.

Steve Gould

Steve serves as a Financial Advisor for Northwestern Mutual. He has worked in financial advising for over 30 years, and previously spent five years in college administration at Ripon College. Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts from Westminster College and a Master of Arts from Bowling Green State University. He holds the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) from the American College of Financial Services. Steve enjoys spending time with family, running, mentoring and visiting the beach at Ocean City, NJ.

Steve is married to Sherrie Gould and has two children, Adam Gould and Emilie Goggans. He is a proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Ella, Sophie, Liam, and Amani.

Danny Mutisya

Danny works as an Associate at the Clifford Chance law firm in London, UK. He previously worked with the law firm of Hamilton, Harrison & Mathews in Nairobi. Prior to that, he served as a Legal Assistant at Ngatia & an Associates law firm. He earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Laws from Georgetown University Law Center. Danny enjoys sports, including football, basketball and rugby, as well as frequenting the theater. Danny is married to Ciku and has a daughter, Mwikali.

Bob Kikuyu

Bob co-founded eduKenya with Adam Gould. He served as the Senior Pastor of Lifespring Chapel, a church plant of Nairobi Chapel, from 2004 through 2014. He previously worked for Campus Crusade for Christ for five years, for Nairobi Chapel as the Worship Pastor, and briefly with Compassion International. Bob facilitated a partnership between Lifespring Chapel and Compassion International to provide education and health care for impoverished children in the Embakasi division of Nairobi, and the Tulip program to educate and provide discipleship for teenage girls in Embakasi.

Bob has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Arts in Mission Studies from the Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (now Africa International University). He is an ardent sports follower and played rugby at the top level in Kenya, once winning the East Africa school championship and twice winning the national club championship. Bob is married to Yoland Cherono and has three children, Sande, Ledama and Simbi. He is proud that his children are carrying on a legacy of love for music and athletics.

Adam Gould


Adam co-founded eduKenya and serves as the Executive Director. Prior to founding eduKenya in 2010, Adam initiated the Kenya Children Project (KCP) in 2006 in partnership with the Believers Centre Church in Mathare and Life in Abundance International. He worked full-time as a volunteer to launch the KCP, hosting vision trips in Kenya and traveling around the US to raise funds while sleeping on friends’ couches. After several years, Adam and Bob Kikuyu recognized the opportunity to leverage resources and duplicate the successful KCP model in other areas of the Mathare slum to facilitate the transformation of many more lives. eduKenya was founded to pursue this vision of transformation.

Adam holds a Bachelor of Arts in Youth Ministry and Master of Arts in International Development from Eastern University. He enjoys playing sports, spending time with family, traveling and cheering for Philadelphia sports teams. Adam is married to Njeri Gould and has a daughter, Amani.
